NEW requirements (Oct 2025): • Capital: ¥30M (~$191K) - 6x increase • Employees: 1 full-time REQUIRED • Japanese: N2/B2 level REQUIRED • Experience: 3+ years management OR Master's degree • Business plan: Expert certification required • Office: Independent commercial space required Transitional period: Current visa holders have 3-year grace period until October 2028. Alternative: Startup Visa (Designated Activities) offers 1-2 years prep period with lower initial requirements.
