Permanent Residency (Residente Permanente)

Overview

Permanent Residency is Mexico's indefinite-stay visa requiring no renewals for adults. It can be obtained directly through high financial requirements (typically for retirees) or by converting from Temporary Residency after 4 consecutive years. Permanent residents enjoy unrestricted work rights and a clearer path to citizenship. The card never expires for adults, though minors must renew every 4 years until age 18.
