Overview

Since August 15, 2023, Vietnam expanded e-visas to all nationalities with validity extended to 90 days (single or multiple entry). This remains the most common visa for American visitors and short-term expats. The e-visa is applied for entirely online through the official government portal.

Tips

  • Use ONLY the official government portal evisa.gov.vn
  • Request multiple entry for flexibility
  • Valid at 42 border checkpoints (13 airports, 16 land, 13 sea ports)
  • Cannot be extended - plan visa runs accordingly
