Overview

The Serra Verde Express is Brazil's most spectacular train journey, descending through Atlantic Forest from Curitiba to the colonial town of Morretes. The 110km route crosses 30 bridges and passes 14 tunnels with dramatic mountain and forest views. Morretes is famous for barreado (slow-cooked beef stew).
